Summary: Use CitedCV for your own CVs, do not try to copy how it works or automate it, do not upload what is not yours, and do not use it to deceive anyone.
Acceptable Use Policy
Version 1.0.0 — effective 15 September 2026. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.
1. Purpose
CitedCV exists to help people write truthful, well-structured CVs from their own facts. This policy describes what you may and may not do with the Service so that it stays safe, fair and available for everyone. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Terms.
2. Permitted use
- You may use the Service to create, edit and export CVs and related documents for yourself.
- Career coaches, recruiters and similar professionals may use the Service on behalf of individual clients with those clients' knowledge and consent, one client per set of facts, provided they do not resell the Service itself and do not use it at a scale that resembles a bulk or automated operation.
- You may publish, print, send and reuse your Output freely. It is yours.
3. Protecting the Service and our rights
You must not:
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, models, prompts, templates, rule sets, scoring logic or verification steps behind the Service;
- attempt to extract system prompts, hidden instructions, templates or rules by asking the model for them, by prompt injection, by feeding crafted inputs or by systematically comparing outputs;
- access the Service by scraping, crawling, scripts, bots, headless browsers or any other automated means, or use it through any client other than the interfaces we provide;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or bypass authentication, rate limits, Turnstile or other protective measures (responsible disclosure is welcome at {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}});
- circumvent, manipulate or exploit the Credit system, including by creating multiple accounts to collect bonus Credits, disputing legitimate charges or exploiting bugs (please report bugs instead);
- share, sell, rent or transfer accounts or Credits;
- resell, sublicense, white-label or redistribute the Service or Output at scale, or offer the Service to third parties as your own product;
- use the Service or Output to build, train, benchmark or improve a competing product or model, or to compile datasets of prompts, templates or outputs;
- disclose or publish details of confidential or beta features that we have not made public;
- remove or alter proprietary notices, or use our name, logo or trademarks without permission.
4. Content rules
You must not upload, enter or generate content that:
- you do not have the right to use, including other people's CVs, confidential employer documents or copyrighted material used without permission;
- contains personal data of other people without a lawful basis, for example a referee's contact details without their agreement;
- is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit or otherwise abusive;
- contains malware, exploits or code intended to harm the Service or other users;
- is intended to deceive, for example fabricated degrees, employers, titles, dates, certifications or achievements. The engine is designed not to invent such facts; attempting to make it do so, or entering them as "facts", breaches this policy.
5. Fair use of resources
The Service is priced per action, not per volume, but we may apply reasonable rate limits and file-size limits to keep it responsive for everyone. Unusually heavy or patterned usage that looks automated may be slowed or blocked pending review.
6. Reviews and public statements
You are free to post honest reviews and opinions about the Service anywhere, including negative ones. We do not restrict honest consumer reviews. You must not post knowingly false statements of fact about CitedCV, impersonate CitedCV or its staff, harass or threaten our staff, or take part in coordinated or paid fake-review campaigns. We reserve our rights under defamation and unfair-competition law.
7. Enforcement
- We may investigate suspected breaches and may preserve relevant logs, acceptance records and generation traces as evidence within our retention periods.
- Depending on severity we may warn you, remove content, limit features, suspend or terminate your account, and where appropriate report unlawful activity to the authorities.
- Unused Credits are forfeited only where the breach is intentional. For unintentional breaches, unused Credits are refunded or access is restored once the issue is resolved, as set out in the Terms.
- If you believe we have acted in error, write to {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}; we will review the decision within 10 business days.
8. Reporting abuse
If you see content or behaviour that breaches this policy, or if you believe your rights (including copyright) have been infringed by content on the Service, email {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}} with a description, where you found it and your contact details. We respond to valid notices promptly and may remove content while we investigate.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes are announced under the process described in the Terms.
