Every template starts from the same rule: a parser must read it the way a person does. The differences are typographic, never structural.

One column, always

Applicant tracking systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and Taleo read a page top to bottom. A second column, a sidebar or a table can be read out of order, so no CitedCV template has one. What changes between templates is the font, the header treatment and the way section titles are drawn.

Standard headings and one date format

Sections are titled Summary, Experience, Education, Skills, Projects, Certifications and Languages, in that order, with one date format per document. Parsers match these words; a creative heading is a heading they skip.

System fonts, no icons

Templates use fonts every machine has: Georgia, Arial, Calibri, Courier New. Contact details are written as text, not icons, and nothing sits in the page header or footer, where some parsers do not look.

Every export is read back

After a PDF is rendered, its text is extracted again and compared with the document: the same lines, in the same order, with the same headings. If the round trip fails, the export is not delivered.

What premium buys

A premium template unlocks once for 5 credits and stays on your account. It buys a distinct look, such as numbered sections, a solid header band or a monogram; it never buys a structure a parser cannot read.

Are these templates ATS-friendly?

Yes. Every template is single-column with standard headings, system fonts, no tables, no text boxes and nothing in the page header or footer, and each export is parsed back and compared with the document before it is delivered.

Can I get a two-column template?

No. Two columns are the most common reason a CV is parsed out of order, so CitedCV does not offer one. Whitespace and typography are used to give a page structure instead.

Can a template include a photo?

Only where the region expects one. A photo slot appears for Turkish and German CVs; US and UK CVs are exported without one, because employers there ask candidates not to include it.

Can I switch templates after building?

Yes, at export time, without spending credits. The document is the same; the template changes only how it is set.

Do templates export to Word?

Yes. Every template exports to PDF and to DOCX with the same fonts, sizes and margins, so a recruiter who asks for a Word file gets the same layout.

How does unlocking a premium template work?

It costs 5 credits once. The unlock is recorded on your account and applies to every CV you build afterwards; you can see the charge in your credit history.

A new account comes with 5 free credits, enough to audit a CV you already have and fix a few lines.
