About CitedCV

What CitedCV is

CitedCV is a web CV builder at citedcv.com. You give it facts: a form, a PDF, DOCX or TXT file that is read in your browser, or answers to interview questions. It writes a CV from those facts and nothing else, and every bullet in the result carries the ids of the facts it was written from. When a fact is missing it asks; when a line cannot be verified it removes the line.

The category is AI CV builder, called an AI resume builder in the US. What separates CitedCV inside that category is provenance: each line has a source you can see, and a verifier stands between the writing model and the file you download. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini write a CV from what they know about jobs in general; CitedCV writes from what you did.

The word cited

Cited has its academic meaning here: a line with a reference to where it came from. It does not mean the CV quotes other people, and it has nothing to do with a citation in the legal sense. In the UK and Europe the document is a CV; in the US the same one-to-two-page document is a résumé; in Turkey it is a CV or özgeçmiş. CitedCV produces all three.

What CitedCV refuses to do

Some of these are engineering decisions and some are commercial ones. They are listed together because a reader deciding whether to trust the tool needs both.

• Invent numbers, titles, dates, employers or tools. Every number, date and named entity is checked against your facts before it can appear on the page.
• Sell subscriptions. Credits are bought in monthly or yearly plans and do not renew.
• Auto-renew, or charge again without a new purchase. There is no card on file being billed on a schedule.
• Offer two-column templates. All eight templates are single-column with standard headings, because that is what applicant tracking systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Taleo and SuccessFactors parse reliably.
• Hide caps. A full build costs 10 credits, a quick draft 6, a line edit 1, and exports are free. There is no fair-use clause that changes those numbers.
• Send your chat history to the writing model. The model receives the confirmed facts for one build and nothing else.

How a build works, in five steps

1. Collect. You fill in a form, upload a PDF, DOCX or TXT file (the text is extracted in your browser), or answer interview questions. The result is a set of facts, each with an id.
2. Ask. If the target role needs something the facts do not cover, CitedCV asks you before writing. It does not fill the gap on its own.
3. Write. The writing model, MiniMax M3, is called with the confirmed facts only. Each bullet it produces names the fact ids it used.
4. Verify. A deterministic verifier checks every number, date and named entity against the facts. A language-model entailment check then asks whether each bullet is supported by the facts it cites. A filler linter scores the whole CV for human-likeness.
5. Export. The CV is rendered server-side to PDF or DOCX in a single-column template, and the export is re-parsed to confirm it reads back correctly.

What happens to a line that fails

A bullet that fails verification is rewritten once. If the rewrite fails too, the line is dropped. A failed line is never shipped, and the build shows you what was dropped so you can add the missing fact and build again.

What a build costs

CitedCV charges in credits. Credits are bought once, in US dollars, and do not renew. These are the published figures as of 8 September 2026; the pricing page at /en/pricing is the current source.

Refunds: a full refund within 14 days of purchase when at least 90% of the pack is unused. There are no partial refunds. The refund policy at /en/legal/refund is the binding text.

Where it runs

CitedCV runs on Cloudflare's edge network: the application is a Cloudflare Worker, the database is Cloudflare D1, and files are stored in Cloudflare R2. D1 and R2 are placed in the EU-west region. PDF rendering happens server-side, so the file you download is produced by CitedCV, not by your browser's print dialog. The Cloudflare Workers documentation in the sources describes the platform.

The writing model

The language model used for writing is MiniMax M3. It is called with the confirmed facts for one build and nothing else. It never receives chat history, and it is not the component that decides whether a line survives; the verifier does that.

Languages and regions

The interface is available in English and Turkish. Regional conventions are built in for the US, UK, EU, Turkey and Germany, and they change what the template asks for: whether a photo is expected, whether a date of birth belongs on the page, how dates are written, and whether one page or two is the norm.

Your data, in plain words

Your facts and your CVs belong to you. CitedCV stores them so you can rebuild and edit, and for no other purpose.

Uploaded PDF, DOCX and TXT files are read in your browser. The text is extracted on your machine before anything is sent.

Export and deletion are available in the app. You can download what CitedCV holds about you and delete it from the privacy page in the app, without writing to anyone.

Data is stored on Cloudflare in the EU-west region. GDPR applies to users in the EU and KVKK (Law 6698) to users in Turkey; both texts are linked in the sources. The privacy policy at /en/legal/privacy says how each right is exercised, and the KVKK notice is published in Turkish at /tr/legal/kvkk.

The legal documents

Six documents govern the service in English and Turkish: the Terms of Service (/en/legal/tos), the privacy policy (/en/legal/privacy), the cookie policy (/en/legal/cookie), the refund policy (/en/legal/refund), the acceptable use policy (/en/legal/aup) and the AI disclaimer (/en/legal/ai_disclaimer). A seventh, the KVKK notice, is published in Turkish at /tr/legal/kvkk.

The operating company is named in the Terms of Service. This page does not repeat the name, so that there is one place to keep it current.

What we do not claim

• No interview guarantee. A CV gets you read; no tool can promise a call back, and CitedCV does not.
• No employer endorsement. No company has approved, reviewed or recommended CitedCV, and none is implied.
• Not trained on any employer's accepted CVs. The writing model is a general model; CitedCV adds your facts and a verifier, not a corpus of successful applications.
• No AI detection claim. Applicant tracking systems parse structure and match keywords; they do not detect AI text, and CitedCV does not sell protection against a detector that does not exist.
• No promise to write what you did not provide. If your facts are thin, the CV is short, and the tool tells you what is missing.
