Summary: CitedCV writes only from the facts you give it, but AI can still make mistakes, so you must check every line before you use your CV, and we cannot promise interviews, jobs or a pass through any ATS.

1. How the engine works

  • The Service uses a large language model (currently provided by MiniMax) together with our own rules, templates and verification steps to write and edit CVs.
  • The engine is built to write from your facts only. Before it writes, it assembles a fact pack from what you told it in the interview, uploaded or typed. Each sentence in the Output is linked to the fact that supports it, and you can see that link in the app.
  • The engine is instructed not to invent numbers, percentages, job titles, dates, employer names, degrees, certifications or achievements. If a fact is missing, it is designed to ask you or to leave the point out rather than fill the gap.
  • After writing, the Output is checked automatically against your facts and against our style rules. Sentences that cannot be supported are flagged or removed before you see them.

2. What can still go wrong

Even with these safeguards, AI-generated text is probabilistic and can be wrong. Possible problems include:

  • a fact restated in a way that changes its meaning or makes it stronger than what you said;
  • two facts combined into a claim you did not intend;
  • dates, titles or names taken from a document you uploaded that were themselves out of date or wrong;
  • phrasing that is unusual for your industry, country or seniority;
  • details that are correct but that you would prefer not to disclose;
  • rare formatting or export errors.

The verification checks reduce these risks; they do not eliminate them.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Read every line of your CV before you send it to anyone. Correct anything that is inaccurate, misleading or not how you want to present yourself.
  • Provide truthful facts. The engine cannot check facts against the outside world; it can only check the Output against what you provided.
  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your CV, for any statement made in it, and for any consequence of using it, including in job applications, immigration or licensing processes and background checks.
  • Where an employer or authority requires original documents or sworn statements, the Output does not replace them.

4. Situations that need extra care

  • Regulated professions (for example medicine, law, engineering, finance or aviation): titles, licences and registrations have precise legal meanings. Make sure the wording matches your actual registration.
  • Career changes and translated CVs: the engine may choose the nearest equivalent term in the target language or industry. Check that job titles, degrees and grades are rendered the way the target employer or authority would recognise them.
  • Dates and gaps: the engine presents the dates you gave; it does not hide or smooth over gaps. If a date is approximate, say so in the interview rather than guessing.
  • Uploaded documents: an old CV may contain outdated or inflated claims. Facts extracted from uploads are marked with their source in the app; review them with the same care as new facts.
  • Sensitive information: do not include health, religion, political or similar details unless you want them in your CV. The engine does not add them on its own, but it will keep them if you enter them.

5. No guarantee of outcome

  • We do not guarantee that a CV produced with the Service will lead to interviews, job offers, promotions, a particular salary or any other outcome.
  • We do not guarantee that a CV will "pass" or score highly in any applicant tracking system (ATS). ATS products differ from one another, change without notice and are outside our control. Our ATS check reflects general best practice, not the behaviour of any specific system.
  • Scores, ratings and labels shown in the app (for example verification scores or lint results) are internal quality indicators, not predictions of success.

6. Not professional advice

The Service is a writing and formatting tool. It does not provide career, legal, immigration, tax or financial advice, and nothing in the Output or the app should be relied on as such. Consult a qualified professional where your situation requires it.

7. Human review and automated decisions

The Service does not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects. Every Output is a draft for your review; nothing is sent anywhere on your behalf. We may review de-identified samples of Outputs to improve quality, as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Model and provider changes

We may change the underlying model, its version or the provider at any time to improve quality, cost or availability. The facts-only rule, the link between each sentence and its supporting fact, and the verification checks apply whatever model is in use. The current provider is listed in the Privacy Policy, and a change of provider is announced there under the process described in the Terms.

9. Reporting problems

If the engine produces a claim that is not supported by your facts, please use the in-app report option or write to {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}. Such reports help us improve the rules, and where the failure is on our side the Credits for that run may be returned at our discretion.

10. Relationship to the Terms

This notice supplements the Terms of Service, in particular the sections on AI output, warranties and limitation of liability. Nothing in it reduces the rights that mandatory consumer law gives you.
